It has been tested in an outdoor setting as a planter with no effects including two rain storms and one snow storm as well as constant hot weather, but I cannot guarantee that it will not become brittle from long term sun exposure. The best way to think of it, is to treat it as you would an LP Vinyl record, although these are more hardy than that~ All versions include a cord, lid and drain hole.
